Probably been asked before but I have not seen all the vids yet.
Has any team on Time Commanders won a battle that historically was lost?
Any official word as to whether there will be scouts in RTW?
Probably pointless in a single player game but I could see the value of a "Scouting Phase" for multiplayer battles.
Where can we find vids of the TC episodes? I saw three posted at stretegy informer and was surprised that it was the "entire" episode. Would like to find more.

i fon't know about that but they sure have repeated history an awful lot of times... http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif
Yup, the show has really showed us that history has a tendency to repeat itself.
But yes, the team playing Tigranocerta won a lost battle. Not because they were good, but because they could handle the heavy losses (they held 6:1 in advantage).

I would not like that at all. Well, I suppose it would be okay if I had a balanced army, but if you're trying out something different you don't want anyone to see your troops. I think there should be scouting in SP maybe, but not MP. Of course I think that was more of a specific Time Commanders thing. You'll be able to scout all you want, you'll just have to use a unit you already have. Well...we'll see I suppose.

I hope you get a scout unit "free" at the beginning of every battle. ie- it doesnt take up a unit slot and doesn't need to be trained. We would have a scouting phase ideally, in my opinion.
It'll be kinda hard to balance this feature in order to have it harmless for tactical surprises.

Well maybe when for instance when ambushed you can't use a scout as the one who's ambushed?
I do hope it will be implemented in SP as it is with TC

Well, some TC teams LOST battles that were historically won. Cannae comes to mind.

That is certainly true, in fact they lost more 'won' battles than they won 'lost' battles. Watling Road is another good case.
I fear that if we get a free scout unit at the start of each battle then the early battle could be affected greatly.
What if we held it back? Then we would get a free chaser unit.

I don't know, in TC they die AWFULLY easy. They probably have the stats of peasants on horses. Or maybe they should have to be withdrawn once the battle starts?

well I think that currently the mini map provides way to much info. You can general just from looking at the mini map. I think if they actually limit what we see on the mini map to our soldiers actual line of sight then everyone would take atleast 1 light cav for scouting.
STW vets would remember stumbling around in heavy fog while sending out there cav to see where enemy was. Thos were fun games.
