Senta, you are seeing the resulting flash from the lightning.

But, that does bring up a good question. Has anyone ever seen the actual lightning? Or just the flash? I have a similar screen shot to Kulgan's from STW and it only shows the flash. Could you see the bolt if you were facing the right direction? My guess is that the flash is all you ever see, but these TW games have surprised us in the past.

Urban Militia aren't bad, but I'd mix in some other units as well. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/tongue.gif A few more cav units would be good. I'm sure you know this all, but i was surprised to see only Urban Militia and your King.

The Lightning just adds real atmospehere to the battle.

I've seen lightning a few times but never the fork of it. I've always assumed it was sheet lightning, which looks pretty much exactly like that screenshot up there.

I like it tho, would make a good intro for a story thread 'The villagers huddled together for warmth as the rain beat down mercilessly, and then jumped together as a great sheet of lightning illuminated the heavens, and the approaching forces...'

Well, the king was very weak and the urban militia I had in reserve. I just had built many billmen to they were only wasting money.
I could have easily won if I had one unit of billmen in the center, flanking them with my milita.
But I didn't expect to win, I'm not that a bad player lol

P.S I'm almoast sure you see the lighthing as you see it in real life. Just not on screen shots?
