The darkness of the sky swells into the horizon as the rain pounds down from above. Thunder crashes together and lighting streaks out, the rain falls down upon the soil over running the sand and dirt gathering in puddles along the paths of man. The trees rise up to greet the rain but shake as the thunder overhead roars aloud, they sway into the air as the four winds blow with all their ferocity. In this storm ridden land, deep within a forest along a well trodden path walks a lone man clad in dark robes holding a modest looking staff in his right hand. He walks through the trees looking about him as he goes, the rain seems to roll off his clothing as if not touching him, as a flash of lighting hits and thunder booms overhead, he looks ahead to see a small hall on the left side of the road.

A strong light is shinning out from within through the windows, and though the door is shut, he can hear the voices of a few singing loudly and laughing merrily. for a brief moment a smile crept onto his face as he walks. heeding no longer the rain or the wind he shifts his weight and moves to enter the hall. The songs he had once heard die away slowly into a faint quiet leaving only the sound of splashing rain and howling trees. Yet he notices the light he saw is still flowing from within like the rays of the sun melt through the clouds on a cold day, he felt his heart rise and opened the door.

The door swung forward and into the hall blew the cold wind from outside, the sounds of the storm traveled in but none inside gave any notice. The figure took a few steps into the hall and closed the door behind him, he leaned his staff against his shoulder and removed his hood to reveal the face of a young man whose eyes glowed with a faint light, his brown hair seemed to shine in what light there was in the hall. Before him there were a number of tables and warriors sitting near and far from the door. He saw Vikings and Saxons, and Normans and Romans. In the corner he thought he could see a Northumbian sitting quietly and laughing loudly a few feet away from him was a Mongol archer who had clearly had to much of the mead.

It was like walking into a collection of the greatest warrior poets this world has ever known and not exact knowing where to sit. Many stories were being told, Tales from old and tales a new. He looked about as if searching for someone before he took any note to the songs being sun by the bards who tried to thrill the hearts of the warriors before on a cold spring night like this one. Finally he moved from his place near the door and journeyed over to a man sitting behind a sort of bar. The man there glanced once at him then went back to tending his business. With his head to to wall a he moved a few chairs and things out of the way he asked the newly arrived stranger What be yer name? There was no answer at first, the eyes of the man in black robes looked ahead of him as if he had not heard the question, but he answered after a few moments of silence.

..Monk he replied in a low and scorned voice.

Oh shouted the barman, You must be the one who is taking over the Assistant Moderator job eh?

There was no reply made by the Monk, only a slight head nod to indicate the man was right.

Alright then he said again, his voice was clear and loud as he spoke, but not really a shout. Then you better get to work, and don't slack off with ya? I think the geisha who had the job before you left you a few notes at that he pointed over to a small board that had a few pieces of paper held up by a sharpened hairpin.

The Monk said only one word Thanks and he shifted over to the corner to read the posted notes left for him. When he had finished going over all his duties he put his hood back over his face and sat in the corner with a cup of ale. He listened to the stories being told, and prepared his comments. Thus a New AM came to the Mead Hall.

Thats right everybody, i am the new AM, so now don't bother froggy when it comes to matters of this kind. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif I'm the one that needs to be bugged http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif but seriously, don't be afraid to ask something of me, i will do my very best to help make the mead hall (and keep it) a tidy place.
