VI empire names

I ran a bunch of searches on this subject and came up with nothing so i figured I would just ask.

How can I change the main faction name in VI. I'm talking about the one that appears when you move the cursor over the faction shield in the custom menu. I have been successful in changing every other instance of the faction names except that one, and appears all over the place in the game. It was nice and simple in 1.1 but not in VI.

Also where can I find the image file for the MTW logo that appears befor the whole game loads. (not the load screen)

Ive looked for this and could not find it, I know it is editable but where it is, your guess is as good as mine

There is alot of translation hidden in changes.txt located in the loc folder. If you are overwriting M:TW existing factions then there entries in that file about naming the factions.
To keep things clear I would suggest to just delete the entry in the changes.txt. But first make sure that you have the exact same entry in another file

For example. FactionA gets named in names.txt but then gets another name by CA in changes.txt. M:TW first looks at names.txt and then lastly looks at changes.txt. If you remove then entry in changes.txt then M:TW will only see the one in names.txt which it easier for you to mod.

Morale of the story: Always check changes.txt when something is not translated

Thanks DJ, i'll go take a look at that.

UPDATE: I edited every occurance of the faction names in DEFAULT_FACTION_SPECIFIC.txt and that did the trick.
