Do you think that CA will release SHogun for download, as I'm seeing with so many other old games?

Maybe after Rome comes out, they will, but I can't see them releasing it as freeware until there isn't one more dollar to be made from it.

There are also likely distribution issues regarding this; I don't think that CA will be able to anything with it until their agreement expires with the publisher.

Yeah...I didn't think about Activision although I meant RTW and my local EB has stopped selling it aswell as everyone else...

ah you can buy it for a bit more than 3 pounds...its almost free...
