I m having problems with assassins in residence in one of my provinces and fear that they target my dear to my heart 6 acumen gov with no stars(= babe in the woods) - I m feeding them a healthy diet of embassadors and bishops and they left my gov alone so far - security is boarderfort and I catch one of them once in a while but at the rate they are comsuming my decoys I m feeling like Northumbria is the disneyworld of asassins. So my question: does placing one or more asassins of my own increase security there (or in any province) or would that be a waste of money?

It's not a waste of money, since these units do counterspying when not on a mission, but make sure you have this valuable 6 acumen chap in a province with a border fort, and preferably some spies as well. (Don't drop the spies on him though) A vanilla 6 acumen gov will make back the money you spend on protecting him in no time at all.

It also might be a good idea to keep him deep within your kingdom so opposition forces need to run a gauntlet of anti-assassin defences to put a fork in him.

I'm not quite sure about this, but is it really useful to put more than one counter-assassin agent? I vaguely remember that when you put a spy and an assassin in one province, only one of them gains valour by counter-espionnage, can anyone confirm?
