Here we go,this topic is specifically on Jedi generals,i'm talking on kings/princes/generals who do not want to die, especially those with more toes and horseshoe sucking wackos, they just won't die.

Here is an experience i had with the byzantines while i was playing them in high,i had a useless heir with 0 stats, and some ugly vices like the ones mentioned above, first of all i sent him to volga-bulgaria against a horde of warriors something like 2000 miltiia, spearmen and an assorted range of cavalry, here is the gist,he routs the entire army and kills of their general,i kept sending him into other provinces until all of eastern europe was subdued by a sorry sob for a hier.

Ok this might sound like bull but in another battle i was fighting the enemy army commanded by their emperor(HRE)the battle went perfectly well, with the least losses possible, but then it started to all go down,i first send 2 units of kataphraktoi to the king, later i sent 1 unit of varangians and several pronoiai and byz lancers,BUT HE STILL WON'T DIE http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/gc-wall.gif eventually the king routs the 2 kats, the lancers the pronoiai and the already beat up varangians, then a chain commences and all my militia routs,i tried to save the situation by sending the general at him who was a high valor prince,a few minutes later and he STILL WON'T DIE http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/gc-wall.gif he kills 23 of my kats before he goes down.

This damaged my MTW experience permanently, these generals are worse than kensai, not only that, they are nukes with legs,i am now scared to send or commence any battle without auto-calculating it.sorry about the paranoia but i hate to see that in RTW,hopefully the developers will take notice,i don't want to see jedi generals in RTW,not even generals that won't go down after killing 500-600 men.notes and comments are welcome

http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/gc-surprised.gif All of EasternEurope http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/gc-stunned.gif That's the most extreme general I've ever heard http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/gc-laugh4.gif

Solution: never waste them. Keep them with you no matter what. After all, many rulers or/and heirs were pretty inept ones in Medieval Europe Play the game more like an RPG.

From what we have seen in Time Commanders, though kings and generals are still usually the last to die in their unit, it is nothing like before, and they are easily subdued.

Jedi generals are clearly one of the most annoying things in the game; I sure hope they fix if in RTW.

From what we've seen in Time commanders, the Jedi General problem seems to be fixed. After all, Even Alexander the Great felt the wrath of the Persian swords and fell when the team played Gaugamela. It was a good thing the team had an "elite" army who didn't care if their general died.

Darius did however seem to exhibit some traits of the jedi generals, moreso than Alexander, actually. It sure did take a lot of guys to finally bring him down.

They should make it like KY said. Generals should just be normal guys. Though it is really annoying to have your general be the first to die, it is far more realistic than having him stand alone surrounded by five hundred men, and kill half then escape.

Sure, generals should maybe have slightly better stats- after all, they aren't generals for nothing- but the current situation is just ludicrous. I hope they remedy it more than they already have.

Darius didn't go down easy for the reason that the team sent skirmishers in against him, whereas Alexander was surrounded by cavalry and got taken down. IMHO it seems to be just fine

GAH

To combat enemy Jedi generals, 'tis best to have a Headless Horseman unit on your side.
