MTW and VI taken off the shelves!

Greetings fellow generals. This is my first post here although I have used this site as a resource for quite some time. I am actually just getting back into MTW after not playing it for almost a year. (After all this time this game still rocks None of my newer games even come close to it.)

I have been eyeballing Viking Invasion in the stores for months now, but I have refrained myself from buying it for fear that it may chew up too much of my time. After getting back into MTW these last couple of weeks, I finally decided to buy VI. Lo and behold in every store I looked, Viking Invasion and even MTW had mysteriously vanished. I swear there were dozens of copies at walmart last week. Best Buy doesent have them anymore either and neither does Software etc. and EB in the mall Of course the sales people at these places dont know anything about it.

I know there is supposed to be a gold version or something like that coming out soon. Does that mean all other existing MTW and VI copies are taken off the shelves? Am I going to have to pay $30-$40 for the gold edition whenever it comes out instead of $20 for just the VI expansion which is all I need? Well, an extra 10 bucks is'nt the end of the world but I want to play VI NOW I don't want to wait

you could try and maybe (If you haven't already) ask a person at the counter whether they have it out the back?

Aha I checked with EB again this morning and they just received a shipment of MTW Battle Collection. All the older versions have been recalled because of this newer edition.

I guess I could do more research and perhaps order the VI expansion online, but I'm too impatient. I just bought the new edition at EB instead. For $30 bucks it is not a bad deal for both games. (unless you are like me and already own the original) Besides, I can't find my old manual and tech map and now I have them again so everything works out for the best.

Time to go pillage :)

Yeah they've withdrawn all the unsold single copies and have released the double pack, Battles Collection.

I think in a few weeks, when they've budget packed VI it may reappear.

But Amazon still carry both original games.

Or you xcan just ask for it seperately. I did that in GAME (in the UK) and they quite gladly sold me the original MTW.

I see the origanal and expansion all the time at my local Game, they r even on the 2 for thirty pounds offer - although the battle collection is the same so I don't understand their logic there.
