how can i edit what units the Golden Horde invades with? I want to increase everything so they dont get beat

It's treated as a rebellion type just like papal reemergence so you can check the rebellion possibilities numbers such as Mulsim Bandits(-10) or soomething column in Gnome editor.

they get beat? that's only against you right? I haven't routinely seen anyone clobber the horde unless it's me.

If you want a bigger fight with the GH, just build up to a fortress in khazar with as many armor and morale upgrades as you can and load up the place with huge stacks of peasants and do this on expert. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/idea.gif

What version of MTW have you got ? I know that the retail version of MTW, the horde was infact quite small 3-5 stacks only. It became a real horde in patch 1.1....16 stacks plus.

Perhaps this is the issue that you are having ?

That is correct - you need v.1.1 or higher to enjoy the GH invasion to the limits.

One of my standard mods I do in each campaign, no matter if if I'm playing the English, Danes or Turks, is to mod the Golden Horde to be tougher - I increase their unit sizes - Mongol Horse Archers are now 80 to a unit, Mongol Heavy Cavalry is 50 or 60, depending on my mood, and Mongol Warriors are now 100 per unit. I also lower their support costs and building requirements, so if they do stick around for a while... they don't have to wait a century to be able to build more heavy cavalry (master spearmaker & master horse breeder is what it is normally, I believe)

I also have a standard mod to increase ammo for all missile units as well. It is a scary sight to see 10-12 units of 80 Mongol Horse Archers marching across the screen, all with 56 arrows, and 4-6 units of 60 MHC in the middle.
