Much better constructed poll than the last age poll. Many new patrons since then, so let's tally them up.

Feels more like 46 ever since I turned up 16, though, and until this very day I'm not certain whether that is a good or bad thing.

I am 18 but I have the opposite problem...everyone says I look older. My nickname in High School was the old man http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/gc-blush.gif . Haven't tried to buy beer yet though hehe http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/idea.gif . It is quite a stupid law, me and my g/f were going to go on holiday to america but she'd be too young to drink over there and she wants to be able to drink on holiday.

I'm sorry to say it guys, but i dnot think this poll was thought through, for example, I'm 20, now do I vote in the 15-20 category or 20-30??

Any good poll should be under 16, 16-19, 20-29, 30-39 etc

Anyway I voted in the 20-30 category cos i'm closer to 21 than I am to 19

Alas, once the poll choices are made, they can't be changed unless Tosa has a power I'm not aware of. One of the problems with polls is the choices have be well thought out and double-triple checked before you hit the submit button. Otherwise, poor choices or embarrassing typos haunt you for the duration of the poll. It's one of the reasons I've never started a poll. I'd goof it up somehow.

If a game like TW doesn't appeal to a mature gamer i don't know which one does...
But aging is a fact of life and the generation of players like me that started their gaming in the 80's are unlikely to give up on gaming. Its part of their lives now. Like books and films and music.
I'm only trying to say that when i'm 80, assuming i get there, i'll still be playing whatever games there are that suit me.
The average age of gamers is likely to continue to grow until it is the average age of the entire population.

Quote[/b] (MadKow @ Mar. 18 2004,10:03)]If a game like TW doesn't appeal to a mature gamer i don't know which one does...
Right on...I agree. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/bigthumb.gif

I saw a commercial clip the other day that was advertising an upcoming documentary on the history of video games, and one of the soundbites was: Just think, in 20-25 years, we will have a man in the White House who played Super Mario Bros - meaning of course, it won't be long until gamers are running the world http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/eek.gif http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

Well, in actual trips around the sun, I'm 33. In terms of appearance, I'm 40 http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/gc-zzz.gif and in terms of maturity & wisdom, I'm about 9http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/gc-jester.gif, or at least so says my wife.

A moment off topic, but I'd hate to start a topic on this... how do I set a signature file? http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif

32.

And why are you all so sad about your ages? I kind of enjoy finally having a real job, not having to go to school anymore, and being able to easily get mortgages, car loans, better interest and insurance rates, and most of all, legal drinks. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

Hey, Plantagenet. By the time you get another 23 years under your belt, you may find that all those legal drinks can actually raise your auto insurance rate. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/cheers.gif

OK. OK. So I'm 55. I'm also an insurance agent. That is, in between campaigns. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/bigthumb.gif Really only posting this to see if I can actually access the Forum from any computer. I can (and may god have mercy on your souls)

mostly feeling like the best part's long gone now.
