View Full Version : Pagan Leader Piece Problem

I know this sounds pretty obvious and it does not alterate gameplay, but I've found out two small graphical quircks with the game:

1-When playing the Golden Horde, have you noticed that if your leader is not moving, atacking or being held, it's Piece Icon is the same as the Christian Piece Icon and not the Pagan one? If you zoom really close, you might notice that the shield is overlapping a Christian one (White with Red Symbol).

I've found out the answer for this:

The Piece Icon for Pagan is spelled wrong. So, the game will not recognize it and will load the default Christian Icon. In the directory Medieval - Total War\campmap\pieces\Units\Pagan it is written:

army_leader_waiting.buf

When it should be:

army_leader_awaiting.buf

2-Have you noticed that the description image for Handgunners of Muslim factions (not Mamluk) is the same as the Christian ones? A heavilly armoured Christian handgunner? The problem is the same: it's spelled wrong. In the directory Medieval - Total War\campmap\Info_Pics\Units\Muslim it is written:

Handgunners

When it should be:

HandGun

I know it's just two little details but I would like to know if someone has detected those problems before... http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/gc-inquisitive.gif

I have never noticed it. Although not really a problem at the moment I still want to thank you for noticing the pagan piece quirk. When ME:TW-team starts replacing the strategic pieces it might have taken us some hours to figure out why the pagan piece wasn't showing correctly.

Many thanks for letting us know,
Duke John
