It was great but I cant type the whole thing lol.

to sum up

this one i dont like u have to play through as one of the roman families first to unlock about 8 more factions to play as.

arranged marriages are being re-worked and have been said you will be able to bring in a capable leader.

u can split ur army up into 2 or 3 groupd, u control 1 and the ai does the rest.

multyplayer capaign...yes

erm there was alot of info here so if u have any questions ask away.

dude this first picture *drools* it has like thousands upon thousands of troops fighting, even in the backround its unbeliveable. oh and for the little caption all they out was "holy crap"

and another picture is a war in a city and there is actually portriats on an entrance to a building, looked like a theater,.

My current theory is that the "unlockable" factiona has been missunderstood.

I reckon its like You have all the normal Factions as playable just Like MTW and STW.

BUT if you complete the Roman campaign you unlock Minor wee factions that would not have been playable anyway.

MiniKiller

could be they just said to unlcok more factions to play as u need to play as the romans first.

The thing that makes me suspicious about this faction unlock thing is...why? There's no story, and most people will want to play all of the factions anyway, so why stipulate an order?

Simultaneous post.

Maybe because they want it to seem more "Rome: Total War" than "Classical: Total War". Silly in my opinion, though.

as far as the multiplayer camapgin not much detial was given.

just that yes there will be a campaign online as well as the normal battles we do, we can set up any type of battle with varioud victory conditions with people.

All they know is its in.

my faith in CA will drop dramatically if they decide to force players to play the Romans first. I mean, I dont even complete entire campaigns in MTW I'll play for a two hundred years or so and then start a new campaign... that's unfair. We need CA input if this is true. Now.

I imagine they want people to appreciate the amount of time they put into the Roman factions like they did into Shogun instead of the general blandness of Medieval. Glad they did this. I can understand the frustration of wanting to play the other factions first but I'm sorta with the devs on this one.

Also means we can but to rest that "which faction will you play first" thread. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif

OH NO

http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/frown.gif

Whilst all this other info is bloody fantastic news, there does seem to be a downside...

In one of the pics, a battle is depicted between Romans and Germans. The whole German force seems to consist of four unit types:

* One 'new' unit carries a sword, no shield and looks to have the 'Conan' hair with the head band?
* Another seems to be the same distinctly Gallic spear unit seem in TC (Mons Grap & Watling Road) with the Gallic mow, round Viking looking shield and knee high boots.
* The 'Barbarian axeman' (see old unit lists)..in knee high boots
* And a spear unit also seen on TC as the skirmishers (Telamon) with round 'rising sun styled' shield ..also with knee high boots

http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/mecry.gif

http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/gc-no.gif Not one German pony tail or Suebian knot to be seenetc ..and the knee high boots are all still there

I have to admit that if this is a final build of RTW, I'm disappointed. The German units could have been so much more interesting, immersive and fun to play with. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/gc-wall.gif

Maybe these new scorpians will be able to do some damage, unlike the ballistas, whose primary purpose seemed to be fancy decoration and scaring stupid peasants.

"Ooo Look, a ballista How very quaint"
"Why are our peasants running? Do they not know that they are more likely to die from lightning than a ballista?"

It looks pretty cool, can't wait to play it even if you do have to play as one of the Roman factions first.

Just wish it wasn't soo long till it comes out http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/frown.gif

Just had a look on totalwar.com, it doesn't say anywhere yet that you have to play as a roman faction first - although the faq on their forums hasn't been updated since Janurary yet.

One thing i did learn is that some V+V's can be hereditory
