Well, I have a couple of questions:

"· Option to play battles through the eyes of the general. You have to see the troops in order to issue orders."

So, don't jump to my neck if you don't agree, but wouldn't it be bloody interesting that, in case your general dies, the Please wait untill the battle ends button or however it's called should appear? This wouldn't mean that you are defeated, just that you're not in control of things for the rest of the battle. Just imagine how you all buggars would keep your general safe from breaking even a nail http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/pat.gif

"· There will be a tutorial where you play before the campaign starts where you see how the roman empire was founded. This campaign is rumoured to be the enormous demo in the fall."

With all due respect, a demo in fall?

Well, the demo for Shogun was released some time in advance, but the demo for Medieval wasn't released until a few weeks prior to the release. Such is the style of CA.

I have wondered about the dead general too... How would it work? I'm not opposed to the 'please wait' button at all.

Was this an interview with the CA or a PC Gamer article? If latter, then don't bother, none of them can beat our well of facts concerning R:TW, mostly they just rhyme things together and don't even care how much they miss.

But, if it was an interview, there I have the first reason for serious concerning about Rome; general dies, game over? My dear, I sincerely hope not

As for demo, I don't expect it until some month or two before the game is launched.

Yeah I doubt the demo will be out much before the game. Its just something to get people who aren't so familiar with the TW series to try it out, and those who are on the fence to swing more towards buying the game. It is not really their intention to appease your lust for the game, although it would be nice. As for the view of the general, it seems to be an option, so like any other option to accept the consequences. I would expect your control to be lost if you lose your general, unless a new general is elected right then.

Just so you know.

Never belive PC gamer as 100% fact.

In the latest UK issue they review BF:Vientam

1. They say it doesnt have singleplayer (uhh yes it does)
2. they say there are B52's (no there isnt)
3. the call a MI8 from the 60's a Hind attack helicopter from the 90's
4. on the "comming next issue 15th march" page they say

"Battlefield Vietnam DEMO"

AJ marrini (lead Developer of BF:V) has repeatadly said there wont be a demo untill the game is released.

So it would not surprise me in the least if this MP campaign was BS. and the Generals view was BS. too.

I personaly think the generals view is exactly like normal view except you can only control units in his Line of sight
wich will be depicted something like Commandos for the PC's enemies LOS.

Perhaps, like Aelwyn said, the view would transfer to the 2nd in charge etc etc until as your last man runs, screaming like a little girl, you look back to see cav units running you down like a dog. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/bigthumb.gif

Perhaps,if you use this view, a morale bonus could be granted to the troops commanded by the general? eg. impetuous... under direct command of general. This would help offset using the AI to command the rest of your troops that are out of sight.

I now refuse to believe anything, and I mean anything, PC Gamer has to say.

Thier credibility is now nill with me. Look at the "MULTIPLAYER CAMAPAIN" thread. There is no MP campaign. That is one hell of a lie to put out just to sell magazines...

I'm pretty sure that's when the game's being released.
