RL my foot Heck, we all know that by 1300-1400 the whole map should be one colour http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif

Thanks for the maps Fanty. Are there larger ones available to link to?

http://www.roman-emperors.org - It's under historical atlases, and there are bigger pictures. I just checked, guess I'm overly bored these days.

Hey, great post Fanty (and Phatose for the URL) - that's a neat site.

Nice pics. But keep in mind these are just snapshots in time. I think the devs chose the provs based on rough approximations of the period.

I mean, show me a map of the world from the 20th century. What year do you pick? 1901 - when the Ottomans were still kicking? 1945 - during a world war? 1991 - post USSR? What's the real map that most accurately depicts the state of the world's boundaries in that century? Just my .02

In this case one would have 1900 and 2000 ;)
And, hmm, yes. It would miss everything what happend between. Except, that you wonder what caused the changes in the map.

Well, Total War is what caused the changes. ;=)
