Ok i qouted your post and removed the names i'm not familiar with,the names above are arabic,the rest i don't really know,they might be turkish,but i'm not sure...

Tho i'd like to point out Yasemin and Yasmine are the same,also Layla and Leyla are the same,in arabic they are written and pronounced the same,but in english its different,its kinda complicated,but i'd omit Yasemin and Layla and put Leyla and Yasmine becuase they sound more arabic.

Faiz is Leyla Persian in origin ? I can;t remember but there is some folk tale...hmm can't remember if it's Arabic or Persian.

yes alot of names are of persian origin,like Leyla,Farah and such,tho alot of arabs use these names nowadays.

Aymar, I was wondering: Do you mean which names were used by the Arabs or Turks (commonly and throughout history) or those that are Arabic or Turkish in etymology? I ask this because I also noticed some Greek names (etymologically) in your original list:

Melisa: "honeybee"
Siren: from the mythological creatures that would lure sailors to their deaths using their beautiful voices.
Melodi: meaning "choral song" in classical Greek.

I'm not sure about May...is that a derivative of Maia, from which the name of the month is derived? If so, that too is Greek etymologically -- Maia was a minor Greek goddess, mother of the god Hermes.

Finally, I've never seen Verda before but maybe that could be Latin in origin (i.e. "green")?

Its really difficult to tell Aymar, or perhaps easy. Ottoman Turkic language has deep Arabic-Farsi-Persian-Greek and even Russian infuences. Most of these names are Arabic, but used in today's Turkish language Let see:

BTW, I must explain something. I and some others are working with WesW to try to speed the release of MedMOD 4.0 as well as to allow it to be the most historically accurate possible. MedMOD 4.0 will have a lot of new factions in all three periods. Since WesW is doing all of the work (except history), he asked for help. I'm working on the Iberian Peninsula, because I'm Portuguese. However, I have some knowledge flaws when dealing with Muslim factions like the Almohads and the Almoravids. Byzantine history would help too. What I'm saying is: I would like to ask you (Faisal, Sinan, Boulis and Cebei) if you would like to colaborate in the area that is your speciality: Faisal and Sinan (Egyptians, Almohads?, Almoravids?), Boulis (Byzantines) and Cebei (Turkish). It is only historical-wise. It concerns the accurate representation of Kings, Heroes and Princess names and characteristics. All according to Historical facts. If you're interested, just PM me...
