That's kinda jacked that all of those mainstream news sites got told about this expansion pack before we all did. I dunno about you but I'm feeling like a mushroom over here. (Kept in the dark and fed shit all the time to keep me alive!)
With over 5,000 NEW visitors to my site every month, and probably more here to the Org, you would think that WE'd get the Scoop on this kinda information before the fly-by "Game News" sites got it.
I mean really, that just stinks.

Well we did, thanks to Anssi Hakkinen, who posted the news here before most games sites did.

My point exactly....Ahem...Richie or Someone over there at CA/DT shoulda dropped us all an official line before the "non-stw community" got a hold of it.
Heck, even I posted the news and details at my site before Richie updated the Community site today. That's silly.
Bah!
Oh weeell.....I can't wait to see this expansion! Me thinks it will be all of what we asked for a ways back (within reason for the moment).
That is good.

Was that beach I saw in the battle view? Well then, don't forget to bring sunscreen when the time comes.

What's up with 40 battlefield ninjas http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/confused.gif

Just how are they gonna use these units?

One tip: one of the released screenshots shows both BNinja units present in "concealed" status.

Their prime use, then, might be flanking: imagine how fast Ashigaru run when 40 ninjas suddenly appear behind them! And if their legendary reputation gives any indication as to their attack value, they will most certainly have their uses, even if it's a bit ahistorical.

I do belive these screen shots are not valid,or,at least one isn't.Take a look at the beach screen shot.Notice above the smoke cloud that theres a LARGE GRAY cliff that just dominates the horizon. Now look at the battle map,it dosen't indicate this,no huge clif on the other side of the bay.I belive this is a doctored picture to show us what they plan on it to look like.Alot of this stuff might or might not happen, since all the fluff seen here might be superficial. It's really hard to notice, but the battle map and the battle view are rather diffrent.

I dunno guys, there may be sand, but the rock croppings, dust cloud and other stuff may be just pianted on there.

So,what do you guys think?Does that worry ya'll any?

Uh... there actually IS a huge cliff on the other side of the bay: the camera is facing North, showing the bottom of the bay and its other side.

Here, maybe I should try and make this more clear for you.Look at the screen, you see a big grey cliff on the other side of the bay,now look at the map, there is no big grey spot for that big grey cliff on the other side of the bay.I am not crazy, amybe your haveing a hard time understanding my english.

Look at the map,no where on the other side of the bay is there any gray near the coast. There are a few dots and such, but nothing to justify that large cliff.

This is at least a doctored picture.Maybe you guys don't care, but I doubt the game will look like these screen shots.

I disagree. The map clearly shows high hills - not cliffs, I admit, but it looks OK to me. I am not in the slightest bit concerned about this.

It is probably because the cliff textures are new and therefore don't yet show up on the mini-map as cliffs. This is a very minor issue and will probably be corrected at some point.

I fully expect the game to look like those screenshots.

The camera is facing south. Look at the colours of the units. Friendly units are gray, enemy are always another colour. The Friendly units are north of the enemy, and since the camera is behind them facing to the enemy, the camera is facing south. There is a cliff on the battle map south of the enemy army, thus behind the enemy army in the main view.

Okay, admittedly the cliffs on the mini-map are smaller than the ones visible - I'm sorry, Katasaki-san, I partially misunderstood your post. He who correctly criticises me is my teacher and so forth.

But I still think those little cliff areas on the mini-map correspond exactly with the positions and configuration, if not the size, of the cliffs in the 3D view. Either the cliffs are not what they seem to be (partially traversible, perhaps?), or they've been artificially enchanced, or we can't read the map properly. In any case, I'm certainly not concerned. The game will look different from what we've seen up to now, no doubt about that - we're half a year away from its publication, anyhow. CA/DT will certainly do something to it during the intervening months.

And the camera is facing north, no matter what: the camera's viewing arc is rather clearly visible on the mini-map.

Damn, and I thought I was being clever. http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/wink.gif I see that view arc now.
