http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wave.gif Welcome to the Org Whoami. Even though you apparently can't find yourself, I'm glad you were able to find your way here.
If I may ask, why do you want to replace the nodachi with the naganata? You must really like naganata. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif We'll see if someone can answer your question here. If not, I'll move it to the Dungeon.
Hey I was thinking about what you said on totalrome.com about why Taranaga from the shogun movies wasnt ever put in a mod. Where should I post asking for some modders to do the dirty deed? I have no modding power myself and would realy like to see it done.

Scipio, there are a bunch of topics on changing names in MTW & VI but I couldn't find anything for STW. It might be similar to MTW though and having to do with a names.txt file.
maybe Barroca can add it to hist STW mod on MTW http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/idea.gif

Its more of an experiment. With all my other games i usually fool around with sounds and models. However i havn't been able to figure out how to switch and change in shogun.

There are a number of pinned topics in the Dungeon -> Alchemist lab forum covering several aspects of modding. Most unfortunately deal with MTW and/or VI. You may be able to apply some of that info to STW. For some specific STW modding, try the Clan Doragon web site (http://doragon.bravepages.com/Medieval/indexm.htm), click on the Doragon STW link to get to the clan STW pages and then click on the Clan Library link. I'd link you directly but the pages have frames which boogers up direct linking. barocca has compiled some information on modding STW including units in these pages.
Maybe someone else can provide some additional information.

Just changing names in STW is fairly easy, but you've only got a limited number (8) I think. Those generals appear as heirs, and I never found a way to change their birth dates or stats.
Hello Whoami88,
If it's just about the looks, yes that would be possible. Top of head: see what Baroccas naginata mod does, track the matching No-Dachi files and replace them with the Naginata ones. Don't forget to update the naming. So Nag.bif becomes Noda.bif. These files are in Textures\men\NoDa
Note: the Kensai uses the same files as the nodachi. So it will start to look like a naginata too.
Good luck.

That works, but the animation is all screwed up. When the Nodachi are running/standing/fighting the animation of attack and die keeps playing.

How do I change the Animation so it works, if its possible at all?

I would ask Barroca but I can't get into contact with him...

barocca has been laying low due to a very busy real life. I'm going to move this to the Dungeon -> Alchemist lab forum so it gets a little more attention from modders.

Ok, I got the model good, the only problem i have is the animations are all screwed up. Is there something interfering or something i am missing?
