Which unit on unit gives the best matchup florin for florin?I like the halb on hcav myself.

hmm, well what is the hcav??? i tend to get confused here and there on the org when units are really abbreviated, everyone alters that or this??? do you just mean heavy cavalry taking on halberd footsoldiers???

Problem is getting the halb to the cav and keeping them away from any other unit.

What do you mean by best matchup? Since the halb would probably win vs heavy cav, I assume you mean which matchup will win easiest. In that case, I'd take v4 Lancers vs v0 Peasants. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

But, most even matchup....erm....maybe Chiv Knights vs Knights Templar. Only diff according to the numbers is charge bonus (besides cost).

Lol funny guys...Camels, good answer...I'm looking for the best matchup to go for in a normal battle. What is best to put up against the standard cmaa, ms, hcav, pav arb army? Yes halbs are not easy to get on the hcav but when they do...meats is on the menu again boys

This is a balance issue. You see players using the standard cmaa, ms, hcav, pav army because it's hard to find a counter army to it. You could try a Byz army and charge, a Turk army and shoot, a Russian army and finesse or a muslim army and camels. I think those come closest to being counter armies to the standard army. At least the standard army has 3 unit types: swords, cav and ranged which is better than if 2 or even 1 unit type was dominant, although, ranged is so weak that maybe all you need is cav and swords.
