Will there be any difference with the familys of Rome?

I think each will have something unique about them, be it a building or unit or something.

For example if you look on the building page at .com you will see a Shrine to Saturn or something like that which only House Scipi can build.

I agree that each family will have some distinctions.

An interesting point of difference, I think discussed at the TWC, was having different auxillias for each Roman faction. If each Roman faction has the same "default" starting point then they would be running into roughly the same factions each time and so could have distinct auxillias available.

Any pictures of the different auxillaries?

Nope, it has just been conjecture so far.

But, naturally different areas of the meditteranean provided different types of auxillias.

In principle the great families of Rome could perhaps have extra access to auxiliary troops through loyalty and patronage. it's difficult however to see how this is functionally different to limiting what troops can be raised to the geographical areas controlled by a faction.

I am afraid that, given the current sentiment on the Org, as soon as CA announces something like this it is immediately going to be flamed as ahistorical. Therefor I prefer Catiline's idea.

I believe the Julii are red, the Brutii are blue, the Scipii are green, and the Senate is purple.

I think it is the Brutti who will be in Sicily and southern Italy. Scipi Will probably be in Spain and Africa. Then the Juli will apear in Gallia Transilpina and beat the living day lights outa gaul germani and britannia..and then the empire.

Spain and Africa? We have a problem Morcini .. the romans weren't controling neither of these in 300 BC, when the game begins. Carthage did, remember?

So, who is white? one important distinction between families might be the family.

Geography and bedsheet colour is important. But, the historical people from each family should make an appearance.

Perhaps some families are better known for politics, others academics or engineering, and some pure fighters.

Maybe some gain bonuses in these areas. Are true historical people going to be born? or have the option of adopting capable historicle figures who came from lesser families?

The patriarchal Roman families/clans were quite diverse. While they would have a reputation for some particular skill their were often members of various professions.

I just hope the Roman families have scantily dressed interns with a lack of self-esteem virtue.

All the Senators had to worry about was the mob and the occasional homicidal peers. None of the independent-bipartisan-publicly-paid-but-corporately-financed committees back then.
