god seriously.
edit: i guess i have to put "made by ky kiske" in big white letters on my wallpapers from now on, i hate doing that crap since it ruins the wallpapers but...*shakes fist in anger*
how much of that was made by you Ky? Looked really good Maybe sometime you will get a pm from me and the Lore clan... http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif BTW Ky did you make the part of the SPQR flag surrounded by blood? Looked really good

Gee... If I had my work all over the net... it'd make me kinda proud..... I'm sure I can slip in a teeny weeny "ky" in the corner there somewhere.. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/gc-anxious.gif
Hmmm...
I don't know your sense of humor Ky so I can't tell if you are joking or serious. I you are serious, I'm confused since you put the wallpaper out in the public domain but I don't recall you saying anything like "admire my work but don't use it unless you ask me first". If those were your wishes, I'm just saying that peeps might not know that if you don't tell them.

By the way, you do some nice work. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/cool.gif The red one is my personal favorite, even though you tagged it with "didnt come out the way i expected it to, d'oh". Can I use it as the wallpaper on my personal pc?
I must say though that it shouldn't matter if he specifically says he doesn't want people to use it, it is just considered "etiquette" to ask before you use.
It might not be obvious to everyone, especially in a public forum. So I asked the question to remove all doubt.

public domain? you gotta be kidding me, the topic i made the wallpaper for did not specify that it was "public domain", tell me where it said that.
even though i did not put "copyright ky kiske 2003" in the image i figured people would be smart enough to atleast ask permission to use it publicly.
as scipio said, it is just considered "etiquette" to ask before you use.
U.S. Copyright law states that any electronic files (including web files) are copyrighted the moment they are put into tangible form, i have the link somewhere but cant find it.
now what i just mentioned wont work at all since most people online dont give a rats ass about a small time graphic artist like me that dont even have a website to actually copyright my stuff O.o;
oh and i was being sarcastic on my other post :)
It might not be obvious to everyone, especially in a public forum. So I asked the question to remove all doubt.
-im aware of that but come on, common sense. would you "borrow" a painting that you saw was lying down on a sidewalk and sell it? its the same thing with the wallpaper i made.
This is obviously a sensitive issue to you. I'm just saying you might save yourself some aggravation if you were more forward about your wishes. I'm sure peeps would be more than willing to give you credit for your fine work, without you having to mar it by pasting some big white sign on it.
Personally, I know the proper etiquette. You'll see that I asked you if I could use one of your wallpapers, before anyone said anything about etiquette. But not everyone knows it - that's why I posted.
Now a debate about copyright is going to be like stepping in dog crap and then trying to scrape it off your shoe by dragging your foot around. The more you try, the more you spread it around the house
*removes shoes*
Sorry if this thread has been hijacked. Great Intro Elrich. You've combined music, wallpaper, and other images made by other people into a fine work of original art. Great Wallpaper Ky. You've combined images made by other people into a fine work of original art.
I really like the red wallpaper Ky. Is it ok if I use it on my personal PC, for my own viewing pleasure, in the privacy of my home? (

BTW Ky, you really do great work http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/gc-thumbsup.gif
BTW which of those pics are yours Ky? They all look great I am wondering who I have to ask to use them http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif
to you guys it may not seem like such a big deal but to me it is.
this has happened quite a number of times, not specifically RTW wallpapers but my other artworks. i usually did not mind back then but after i saw people taking credit and posting it on a bunch o sites it got me pissed. if i had taken steps to prevent people from doing that earlier i would have been given due credit.
i dont really know if you guys are being sarcastic but whatever.
yes you can use it on your desktop, thats why i posted it on the Desktop thread http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/rolleyes.gif
Quote[/b] ]The more you try, the more you spread it around the house
-oh yes, but you will remove it eventually.
pox im not pointing toward you.
