My mod isnt really cut out to be the best
Especially since there are many more out there which people play more than mine, like NTW, HTW, MedMod, and various others.

The best mod is a personal choice thing. I'd suggest you read the threads on the mods that catch your fancy and make a judgement based on the feedback from the people who are playing them.

If you luv new units then try the mod based on Napolean.

The best mod is Gregoshi of course
No one else is better in making a funny remark each time a new patron enters the Entrance Hall. They sometimes even make sense Watch them carefully, it's like getting a nice toy in a can of spam.
There is even a Gregoshi-cult and I believe that they are still open for new worshippers.
All hail Gregoshi

Thx for the replies, I think I should have made my question a bit more precise.
I hope I didnt offend anyone by asking which is 'the best' because that isnt really what I wanted to know.
@kekvit. I didnt want to know about your mod so I could judge if it was the best or not, I was more interested simply on its actual content.
@gregoshi. Fine advice as usual but the mod threads to tend to concerntrate more on the progress of the mod, bugs, eta and such. most simply say 'new units' or whatever and dont go into detail.
thx for the feed back anyway.

Everything depends on taste and preference when appointing the best mod. All are different so it´s like comparing a banana with an apple etc.
Playing the standard game-frame I defenitely go with appointing MedMod to be by far the best mod. For you that have followed Wes´s decent upon game after game through the years has to agree that he´s really the king Louis of modders. In my experience no one is really comming close.
HTW is really fun if you like that period in time and I keep comming back to it time after time and are relly looking forward to the next version of it.
NTW is another masterpiece but since I´m not keen on cannons and a more modern day warfare style so it´s not for me.
METW I have great expectations for and can´t wait for it to be released.
Some of the guys working on theese last three mods are really heirs to Wes´s throne and when RTW comes out I dream of putting toghether a dreamteam of modders, much as been done by Wes on his v4, to make RTW the ultimate modders dream.

Edit: Oh yeah, and to stay on topic. I think the Wars of the Roses mod will be the best http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/gc-grin2.gif

Sorry, I didn't pick up that new units was the only qualification for for best mod. You are mostly right about the mod threads, but you do get players giving not only bugs, but comments on how the mod plays. You just have to dig a little for them.
Perhaps this is what you are after: Mod Descriptions (http://www.totalwar.org/cgi-bin/forum/ikonboard.cgi?act=ST;f=5;t=9021).
