Hallo to all of you,
We are all familiar with the battle map, which is in essence a 'field of honour' where opponents face each other.
I have been producing a large number of maps from a slightly different angle.
Keywords can be: Last stand, Holding the Pass, Guarding the Ford. What I mean is this: We have all seen movies (on tv or in the cinema)and we have all been reading books about battles. As a result our mind (if we think back)is filled with images. We SEE with our minds eye the situation. We see the hordes thundering down the pass. We see a 'pathetic' remnant of the once glorous imperial army gathered around the flag on that hill with the enemy closing in.
It is such a wonderfull creative experience to inch your way towards that heroic image in your mind and to see it come to fruitation. I admit, as a simple 'custom battle'- map maker I often have to work around the restraints of the program, but even than amazing results can be had.
Anyone interested in pursuing this line of thought ?
