Flags on Units

I know each unit has a large flag, and the gerneral has the large square one. But what are the little flags that units have, and some units have more then others. What are these flags representing?

You're darn right Lord Rom. By scanning the enemy units' flags you can tell which of their units are the tough/weak ones. Unfortunately for me, I rarely remember to check them when I'm marching into battle. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/gc-embarassed.gif

yep, always use these flag counts in battle as this is the only indicator of enemy valour in battle.

You should target highest valour enemy units with your missile units. their improved defence rating doesn't help them guard against missiles, being only good for melee.

by attritting their best by missiles, your troops will do far better in melee.
