View Full Version : Simultaneous Death

Well in SP (same campaign as the 51 Hatamoto) unit of Yari Calvary killing off the last member of another Yari Calvary.
One of mine died at the same moment as the single opponent did. Both death animations started at the same moment and looked like a mirror image ballet as the fell outwards from each other.
So are the attacks calculated attacker then defender, but only after both sets have been calculated are the results applied?

Victory First, Battle Last
Now, I think more importantly...
In a competitive game online, where each player is left with a single soldier and they die simultaneously...who gets the win!
Actually, I am curious about Pap's question (ignore mine).

Uhh, that would be a killer. I bet game would crash or else the one that milli-secondly died first wins.
Pap, maybe a stat expert like our great Yuuki can help. Interesting topic! http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/smile.gif

Really Tera?
You think the one that DIES first would win?
Hey if that is the case, I would be able to have the most wins online in no time...because my troops die all over the place! http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/tongue.gif

Please ... we all know in hand-to-hand, soldiers exchange blows in-turn. So what you described could never happen.
But here is a more likely scenario:
Suppose you are left with two lone warrior: one Yari cavalry, and one BALROG archer.
The BALROG archer fires arrows that travel VERY VERY slowly, but aimed strictly vertical. You might want to ask why he chose such a weird trajetory, but hey, what can you say to a pacifist?
Righter after the BALROG archer shot his flaming arrow at the heaven, the Yari cavalry charged in.
Now we all know missle troops are wussy in close combat. So natually the BALROG archer became a nice human Shishi Kabob.
But not before the flamming arrow decent from the heaven, piercing the horse man's skull and boiling the brain inside.
Since the timing was perfect, they indeed died simultaneously.
Who had won?

The arrows never fire above a 45 degree angle. The trajectory gets flatter as the target gets closer.
The situation described is a unit of YC fighting a YC with one man. From what I've observed, there is a delay in the death sequence after the fatal blow is struck. You can see that the fatally wounded man does not fall to the ground immediately, but he also does not strike back so you know he is going to die. What may have happened here is that the single man fatally wounded the man he was fighting, but a third man fatally wounded him in the same cycle. When the death animation played, both fell to the ground at the same time.
