Ninja are a pain to properly cultivate and apply. Unless you really know what you're doing, it's probably best to spend that 200 koku on some Yari Samurai.

Still, if you develop some high-honour Ninjas... hoo, boy!

To successfully use a ninja:

1. Find emissary, priest, taisho, or daimyo.

2. Drawing your sword, raise it above your head, sharp edge facing away from you.

3. Accelerate sword into victim's (#1) head with a quick yet controlled downward motion.

I don't know who that Lanza dude is, but that essay is exceptionally helpful. Right now I'm playing a campaign seeing if I can wipe out the competition using nothing but ninjas after setting up a defensive position (using his ideas, of course).
