View Full Version : Aryeh Nusbacher
GAH
Just like the CA people drop by once in a while to fan the flames, would youz like to have Aryeh Nusbacher drop in and give us a piece of his brain?
GAH
It would make for some interesting conversations, and maybe with Nusbacher on them CA would make the the factions a bit more accurate, maybe not but then again... http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

Aryeh Nusbacher is probably one of the few living historians who is getting a fanclub http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/ht_bow.gif

I hope he is still teaching at Sandhurst when i try to get there http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif
Someone should make this thread productive. Post a draft of a invitation letter then we can all argue about what it should say. Get the signatures of a bunch of people here at the Org. I'm pretty sure the mods would give him a special Time Commanders Historian avatar and title seeing as the devs have them. Before we send the letter off we should bump some of the more intelligent threads in the Monastery up a bit. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif
And if nessasery we can intice him with Soly's thread. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wacko.gif

Yes, I think Soly's thread would be the most effective indeed... http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/gc-wink2.gif
Of course get him asap But, he has to accept being bashed and flamed from the start. I guess he can be the ideal sandbag of the forum.

Aryeh posts as "Nus" fairly regularly on the Wargames Directory forum (including a few responses about some of the battles in Time Commanders):

I couldnt find that nick on the wargamer forum??
It would be great to get him here if possible. Of course he would need a unique or any avatar he wants. And if possible even make him senior member maybe. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/bigthumb.gif

Aryeh Nusbacher is a historian of war () and he is one of the commentators in the BBC2 tv series "Time Commanders" which is based on the new Rome Totalwar engine and re-enacts historical battles in which 4 contestants command one of the armies and the cpu commanding other army. He is totally aggreesive and hyperactive individual, somewhat a British equivalent for Erman Toroglu + Mehmet Ali Erbil. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/gc-2thumbsup.gif
You can download the series from www.strategyinformer.com, just search for "time commanders". However each serie is like 45 minutes onlg, which means that the files are 150-200mb big So you may not want to start downloading if you dont have broadband.

Well if that's the case why not post a warm, welcoming invite to the guy?
I reckon he'd have a blast here

He might be up for it given his apparent interests. You have to wonder how much he knows about the Total War series at all if he was only involved in the TV production. Plus, hen mentions an interest in Tolkien and other progs that visualise hsitorical battles... and we have mods for LOTR and Napoleon. Who knows?

Read the first page. I told you guys it wasn't supposed to be pronounced "Erik." Seems he doesn't mind, though.
