Battlefeild Camera "Intelligence Required"

Is there a way or has anybody tried to mod a little bit more control into our battle camera .
In the heat of battle when I click from group to group and unit etc it would be nice if they camera flew to the right possi instead of the dumb spots it puts itself into , thus requiring more pausing and adjustments .
I would like to see it fly to the most advantageous position ,,it would make the battle flow and much more exciting .
Eg I have just cliked on to my block of 4 spearman defending a pass the new improved camera would fly to the highest position looking down onto all the units involved from behind and to the center of them ,instead of only one small section of this battle .

DIMITRIOS, there is a command line thread, space -ian that can be used to gain almost total control of camera position, and a lot of other stuff. There have been quite a few posts on it lately. Run a search in this forum. You should find what you want. One wouldn't want to try using it im MP, even if it's possible.

Excellent have you modding skills Lord Ovaat ?
perhaps I can awaken your creativity to such an mod as it would truly make for much better smooth flowing uninterupted battles , (RTS) and not constant pauses for camera adjustments.
I beleive with a few tweaks it will become a must have for all versions and mods.
It should also take into acct trees , mountains , buildings . Check my other post U I P....UNIT INFO PANEL .

Sorry, Pard. None whatsoever. I'm just aware of the codes, and use them to mod. It's as close as I can get to enabling changes I prefer. There are al lot of guys who are modders. Some good mods currently available, some others in development. Check out the Apothocary forum.

Just right click/properties on your MTW shortcut. In the destination path add a space and type -ian (at the end of the line)

It only works for Viking Expansion.

Have you played with this command line thread , that Lord Ovaat refered to ?
Sometimes in the heat of Battle i would like the camera looking down from a bit higher .

Oh yes I have used it. Although I dont really play SP but before the 2.01 patch for VI the -ian command also worked for MP.

It did give a great overview of your army but unfortunately it was also a bit of cheating. Enemy units that were supposed to be hidden behind a hill could easily be seen by your camera as you no longer had any restrictions.

Of course it was tough to suddenly not have it after the patch but thats life http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

But -ian works for SP and in battle replays.
