any informaton on this will be very helpful, i want to start on this, because it is my friends, and in about a week's time, i will be getting MTW, so i want to get a bit of practice at modding beforehand. Cheers.

When I played way back when, the cheat code was .conan.

The expansions and patches may have changed that, so......

Duke, can you be clearer? You want to mod(?) STW to allow the Rebels as a playable faction? And you want to do this because your friends are getting MTW(?) shortly? I'm confused (not that that is hard to do).

No greg, he wants to mod it so rebs can be playerble, becuase he wants practice before he gets MTW. That is what I thought he was saying.

yes jag, that is exactly what i am saying, cann anyone help??? i might just leave this now because my mate has told me that modding in this is extremely limited than what you can do in mtw. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/gc-wall.gif

Did you even try the cheat code .conan.? That isn't modding.

JAG, I can't help other than moving this topic to the Alchemist lab as I'm not a modder. I know barocca has some STW modding information at our Clan Doragon website so I looked into it briefly. I found nothing relating to rebels.

I'm still confused about how modding STW relates to friends buying MTW soon. I'd think MTW modding questions would be in order.

ok gregoshi, it would be nice if you could move this, if you look at the post i made about mtw and stw you can clearly see that i said i want to get some practice at modding stw because i am getting mtw in a wedd, and i want to know a bit of modding techniques beforehand. sorry for the confusion i might have caused.

My fault Duke. I read your first post a couple of times and missed the I thus thinking that your friends were getting MTW. Sorry. I'll move this to the Alchemist lab forum. You will be able to post replies in that forum.

I don't know the answer, but there I think I should warn you that there is very little knowledge here about modding STW.
Besides that modding STW is considerably different from modding MTW. Yes, it is both about editing text files, but the similarities end there. I think that there is little advantage in learning to mod STW if you get MTW soon.

I would advise to read the topics here and prepare for the moment where you get MTW. If you don't then you will face lots of little problems that there already answered here. So take a look around and ask yourself what you want, but I would start small.

Cheers, Duke John

thanks for the info Duke John, i already know how to a bit of the modding on MTW anyway because my friend, who is a member on this board is a very good modder, and i have sat through him making some changes, so i have some idea of what to do.

Hey Duke Dick,

I suggest you can now join your earlier ideas of modding STW with what MTW:VI enables you to do. Get Barocca's great STW Mod for MTW:VI, make a faction called "the Rebels" or sth, make a campaign with this faction in place of all the rebel regions, and there you go http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/bigthumb.gif

i think i might do exactly that. my friend told me about the stw mod for MTW:VI and i have seen it in action. can't wait till i get it.
