OK, so I'm struggling along with the Aragonese - got three provinces in Spain plus one in SW France and Corsica/Sardinia. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/rolleyes.gif

I'm not that powerful so any ambassador that happens along I'm allying with - including the marriage of an English princess to one of my brood - something which I very quickly forgot - I mean as long as they weren't attacking me.

All of a sudden the English King dies with no heirs and I'm instantly blessed with most of France plus a nice little middle eastern empire - all those provinces which I didn't inherit were defended by some puny rebel forces - three of four of which I knocked over in a few turns. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

I have never had that happen to me, I was beggining to doubt it ever did happen at all... I think I might try marrying someone's princess and then murdering off their royal family via assasins...

I've never had this happen either.

I've got Syria nicely set up for assasins, maybe I'll go and try this tactic.

too bad no princess would like to join my Turkish harem.

if I play catholic, I'm usually waaay too big when I reach Syria to have any royal marriage possibilities.

I have a question tho. If you are at war with a faction that gave you a princess, and you kill all of the rival factions royals in a battle, do you still inherit? Seems a wee bit funny. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/gc-clown.gif

Have played several games as the English inheriting the Danes and vice versa. Actually started a thread about it some 4-5 months back. Have never inherited something with anyone else though.
Best one was when I inherited a real Danish empire with 3-4 full stacks with vikings and they held Scandinavia, Saxony, Pomerania, Prussia, Lithuania and Livland plus a considerable fleet. This was on early around 1150-1175 AD if I remember correctly.

To be honest I don't honestly know - the events described above knocked me for six as it was, and like I said, with their princess safely tucked up in the bridal suite with my prince I kind of forgot the whole thing happened - I guess the best thing to do is to try what you're describing and see what happens - I can't imagine the AI being sharp enough to deprive you of the spoils of war purely for being devious - one of the key abilities to suceed in the game http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/smokin.gif

isaw it first the first time some weeks ago. i assasinated 4 or 5 danish kings and when i stabbed them all the sicilians got their land(s) (denmark). before that i always thought that it`d never happen.

I was the english, and I died wihtout and heir (dammit should have never sent the perverted, incestuous prince ot die in France) and Scotland inherited ALL of my lands. It was sad. HTe whole area of my map turned blue.
