Hey What's the deal? I downloaded mappack II and unzipped it into battles\maps but my game I hosted conflicted with others that had the same mappack. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/angry.gif

MTW_VI_MP_MapPackVolume 1 and MTW_VI_MP_MapPackVolume 2 are the 2 mappacks you need.
They come with an installer than should find the right folder by itself. When you run the installer it will show what path/folder it installs into. If that is the main MTW folder then everything is ok. Do not set the folder to battle/maps as the installer already are set to do that.
If somehow it cant find your main mtw folder then you have to set the correct path yourself. It just need something like this: D:\Program Files\Total War\Medieval - Total War
Just use the uninstaller that is included with the mappack and install it again.
If you installed some older mappack then you can simply delete all maps in battle/maps folder. You can download and install all the default maps too so its not a problem deleting everything. The default maps are in this file: OriginalVI_Maps

Thx CB, very helpful info. Now, is there anywhere else to download from besides 3d downloads? I have a severe allergic reaction to waiting in lines...and viewing porn advertisements http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/tongue.gif
No pop-ups or queues (http://www.mizus.com/Files/k0rgs8gVt/Maps.shtml)
MTW_VI_MP_MapPackVolume 2
MTW_VI_MP_MapPackVolume 1

On a similar note, I have the two multi map packs, and it won't let me make games w/ certain maps like steppes or other mizuland ones, but it will let me join them. Anyone know the answer to my problem off the top of their head?
Hm that sounds strange...
When you host how many maps in total do you have to pick from?

I don't know exactly for sure right now (I'm at school), but I think it's like 400. They're mostly castle maps, though.
You should have around 700+ maps. If you dont then you might have the old mappacks?
With the new mappacks all customs maps got new names/tags so people could see what type of map it was. Thats means you have to delete all old maps.
An example of a mapname would be: (mL)_Bachs_farmlands01. All custom maps have a tag like this.
Tosa made a mappack with all the default maps too to make it easier for people to make the change. You simply delete all maps in the folder (battle/maps) and install the 3 mappacks: the default maps and the 2 custom mappacks.
