View Full Version : Ancient Mods & Maps
Hi everyone
After playing MTW for the last 2 months and looking at this site I thought it was about time I registered. I have enjoyed reading all the posts and yet find the more I read the less I actually know http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/gc-lost.gif
There are a couple of questions I would like help with please:
1 - Does anyone know where I can find ancient mods for MTW or the Viking Expansion? Advice on downloading the mods would also be helpful http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/gc-help.gif
2 - Does anyone know where I can download the map for MTW as well as the base income for each province i.e. no farm upgrades.
Thanks in advance

There's Hellenic Total War, Almost Ancient. It's a great mod. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/bigthumb.gif

You might find (a part of) an answer to your 2nd question in the following thread: MTW Economics 101, income and outgo (http://www.totalwar.org/cgi-bin/forum/ikonboard.cgi?act=ST;f=15;t=16077), where mbrasher1 explains some basics of the MTW economics.
There is plenty of info in his post + in the replies of some other users.
There are some topics related to economics in the Table of Contents (http://www.totalwar.org/cgi-bin/forum/ikonboard.cgi?act=ST;f=7;t=3823) too.
Hope that you find what you need.

Thanks ParthianWarrior
Do you know the best place to download it from and whether it works on Viking Expansion?
Also noticed reference to Patricain based on early Rome, you heard about this?

both are great mods.
download from their respective homepages which you can find the link to fairly easily

The main thing I was looking for was base level of farming income without any upgrades so I could target provinces to take over. I started going in as each faction and destroying upgrades to see what this was but got a lttle tedious http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/gc-wall.gif
I know there are others ways but I hoped there may have been a file with all this info on nice and neatly so I could prioritise conquests.

Oh, well, no prob.
I vaguely remember that I saw such a list somewhere on the forums, but I don't know exactly where.
I'll have a look. If I find anything, I'll post a link. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/gc-yes.gif

YAKOBU, I was just browsing through some files here at the Org, and I think I found the file that you are looking for. It is called MTW Region Guide and it's created by FroStone. You can download it here (http://www.totalwar.org/Downloads/faq.shtml).
This PDF gives you all info you need to know about any region: basic income, valor attributed, region ownership etc.
Hopefully this is what you need. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif
Thanks Tricky Lady
Only just downloaded the file and you'll not be surprised by what I'm gonna say....................... http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/mecry.gif I think it's for the original version and I'm on the Viking Expansion so although the file is great the actual income doesn't tie up. Never mind as there are more recent files on the same site that look appropriate so I will download them.
Thanks for trying http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/bigthumb.gif

So you actually would like to see some income stats for the VI map + the Viking map (England)?
I don't think it's so hard to find this out. If you want me to, I'll have a look on the provinces, and see if I can gather some info for you. Shouldn't be too hard, I guess.
Hi Tricky Lady
Don't go to too much trouble. If it's a case of starting a campaign with each faction then I will do it. Alternatively I could just highlight key farming, resource and trading provinces.

That's indeed what I was planning to do. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif
Think I'm going to do it anyway because this kind of info seems to be quite usefull to me.

Hi Tricky Lady

Well it wouldn't hurt if you could show me which thread you found... http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/tongue.gif
I started to identify all the provinces one by one, but haven't touched the game for a few days now, so it is on hold now. I'll see what the thread gives. Perhaps I can go on with my manual research later on. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/gc-yes.gif
Hi Tricky Lady

Unfortunately you'll need to identify goods of each province to work out most profitable http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif
