hi, for some reason, my campagin keeps crashing. I ade it myself, and i reached the year 1583. I am in winter, and when i click to go to next year, it crashes.

I was playing it for about half hour before it did this, so it can't be my changes i incorporated, and i started a new game and ended turn until 1584 and it carried on playing right. anyone have any suggestions?

If at all possible, would anyone with the following files be able to send it to me through MSN so i can repleace mine just in case: crosbie394@hotmail.com

Files:
japmap_startpos (located in shogun total war folder)
changes (shogun/loc/eng)
frontend (shogun/loc/eng)

I have checked my error file and this is what it says:

Duke,
Based on all your modding questions, I'd suspect that maybe your modding is the cause. You should ALWAYS backup your files before you edit them. Also, if you want to mess with modding and play a standard campaign, I suggest you have two installs of the game - one unaltered and the other for modding. You can do this by simply copying the game folder into a new folder (STW mod or something like that). However, since you may have corrupted some of the files, you'd be best off going throught the install process again. Remain the modded folder to something else and then do a normal install of STW. This will also give you clean copies of the files you are asking for.

If this isn't the cause, post back with hardware and software specs for your PC and we'll see what we can do for you.

ok, i do backup all my files, and i havent altered any files apart from startpos and historical. i have requested the others just in case, i might re-install everything in a mo. i have nothing wrong in these files, so my modding should be taken out of the question, especially as when i play as another up till this point, it still works.
My pc specs are:

1800 processor
256 mb ram
at least 32 mb graphics(this is questionable, but i know that when i go onto bios, i can select 32 mb)
25gig hard drive
decent sound card
direct x 8

i really dont know whats wrong. does stw:mi read from the cd while you are playing? for example a cutscene or something? Also if you have stw installed , can you tell me what the japmapstartpos file extension is. it is in the stw folder.

ok, i have reinstalled everything, and i re-modded the game from scratch (apart from the settings for units and buildings for my campaign) I moved the save file into the save folder, and loaded, but it still crashes, when i look at the error log, it says:
