Has anyone tried to incorporate a new building to produce feudal units , as part of the Arriere Ban?

The building could be called a Beneficium or Feodum, and would produce the indigenous Military elites of the conquered province (Feudal type Knights, etc..).

The building should be easily produced (Feodum1), but the units should be expensive to maintain.

I am figuring this could be used to help out the AI as well.

Has anyone tried anything like this? how did you make out?

This would probably go very well with Wes' Homelands concept.

This might sound like a really silly question, but whats an Arriere Ban?

A new building is no proble and can be easily added. However, I have one question, how would to assign it to a province that had only just be conquered. Over time that province would be assimilated into the empire. For example Wales into England and hense Welsh Longbows and Spearmen.

Sorry, the Arriere Ban is the when a King calls up the entire Feudal host for war. He calls his immediate vassals, they call up their vassals, and so on down the line.

After thinking about it a little more, this type building could be used to transplant your nobles into a conquered territory as well.

It could be used as a means of Assimilation.

My original idea was to take land out of the Royal Domain, and to "Feudalize" it.

Yes, I am 100% Sicilian, but I live in the USA. I am from Siculiana in the province of Agrigento on the South Coast.

Thats a good idea, as it could counter rebellions
