Three New Screenshots at the .COM

The last new one shows what I think are Marian "type" Legionaries in combat w/ some Hoplites. What you can clearly see in the background is a pilum volley.

Too bad we could not see this more clearly.

Side note - the Hoplon shield shape is a puzzler. In screebshot #1 the shield is VERY round, yet we get the "Stop Sign" verson in shot #3. Are these shots from different builds??

I think in the first 2 pics the hoplites are from the greek states and in the third selucid well something like that propably.

Ah thanks for the help Basileus.

Speaking of the Sheilds its probably the effect of Bump Mapping,where the closer you move the view to a unit,the better it looks,same holds true if vice versa.The polygons are reduced to help the game run at a stable framrate especially in big battles where there are alot of units on screen at one time.

ok this might be a random question but seeing those romans as purple*shivers* gives me the creeps.

so is it possible to choose your faction color? instead of the default one? i seriously dont want my legions to attack the enemy with the color purple...i might get insulted...yknow....

i dunno but since they already showed us the brutii,scipii and julii colors,the purple is probably the senate,and they are not a playable faction(at least thats what i heard).

dont forget that the preatorian guard wore purple as its uniform colour. nonetheless, i cant say i like the purple.

I think I remember the pratorians looking extremely cool in Gladiator, even in purple. It looks pretty....gay in that last screen though, maybe if the puprle was darker and the black was more pronouced?

I dunno, I'm scarring myself with this fasion talk.
