Hey, I really wish I could help you there but I got a problem with multiplayer too... though I get stuck at the cd key part. I have both the game & expansion but for some reason neither cd key works whatsoever. I have tried both unsuccesfully on a number of occasions. I can't imagine what
I am doing wrong other than maybe mistaking O's for 0's or visa versa... I also put all the - things in between the numbers as well... I guess I am lucky I am happy enough with the single player...

Not sure about STW but with MTW and MTW VI the gamepsy host page has a whole section on tech problems and solutions, settings etc. for configuring firewalls and routers etc.
I think if you configured your firewall properly it is probably router port error thats a guess
so check into the support page for the server you are using...LOS
