It is said, I believe, that the road to hell is paved with good intentions; in my experience here on the Org, it is paved with either bad or misunderstood jokes. Or both.
In the said thread Good One, Good joke Gregoshi, that was obviously a small spam outburst and it happened all in good fun, I have engaged myself with the Assistant Moderator Demon of Light on a pointless and (I thought) funny exchange of nonsense. It was all in good spirit, to my own impression, and I have certainly been unpleasantly surprised to find out that Demon of Light has experienced my posts as very insulting and filled with animosity. It certainly ruined the peak of a work-loaded day that was supposed to end with my short visit to my favorite online community place, which is what Org has always been, and make me relax. Well, think again.
The respective member of the Org staff has found himself offended with my statements (TEH BAN) and my (once again, intended to be funny) innuendo that DoL is behind the spam. He also interpreted my posts as an attack on his own integrity and my attempt to pull rank on him.
Therefore, I find myself obliged to set things straight, so that no one, least AM Demon of Light, would believe I meant any disrespect to his person or position, nor did I intended to insult him or in any way diminish his role at the Org.
1.We are both of the same rank, and have therefore no possibilities to order each other what to do; after all, we all come to the Org because we love it, not because it's our job.
2.I have no jurisdiction in Entrance Hall whatsoever, so I could not ban anyone or close any topic or otherwise exercise the rights and privileges of a full moderator. Hence, it should be obvious that all my talk about banning is only a joke; after all, a careful reader will find out that I have, in the same statement where I accuse DoL to be the instigator of spam (which is an obvious nonsense in itself), banned myself from that topic. Funny? Not anymore.
3.Demon of Light is by all means member longer than I have been and he is also Assistant Moderator for a longer time than I am, and if there is any way to measure authority on that aspect, I should be subordinate rather than superior.
After reading this statement, I find myself amused at the thought that someone might actually believe I am trying to bully myself through and prove how tough I am, especially another member of the Org staff. Now, that is funny.
I have apologized to Demon of Light via PM, yet I believe he may find that alone unsatisfying.
Ergo, in all form and with greatest sincerity, I apologize for any offense I might have inflicted on our respected staff member, assistant Moderator Demon of Light; it was not my intention to insult, not even nearly, yet even if there is a shadow of doubt that I may have done so unintentionally, I regret it deeply. I would also try to apologize to our most esteemed fellow member, Lord of the Entrance Hall Gregoshi for troubling the spirits, yet I hope things are again safe and sound here, at the Org.
