Greetings. ;D

I used to play M:TW all the time, but I've had it uninstalled for a while. Just cranked it back up, patched, and was going to run through the battle tutorials to refresh my memory on the battle controls.

Problem is that after I click Play this Tutorial, the game freezes up with the loading bar at about 10%, forcing a hard reboot.

I have searched, and only found issues about sound accel and setting desktop to 800x600, but nothing seems to help. I seem to recall an issue like this from a long time ago that required changing a setting, but I can't recall what it was.

Help? Machine is fully updated/maintained, from the bios on up.

Athlon 1.2 gig
WinMe
GeForce4 ti4200
Soundblaster Live
512 ram

One more thing - on the loading bar screen, when the game freezes, there is a little row of tiny vertical green lines across the top of the screen.

Thanks in advance for any help on this...

(Updating - can't seem to find a way to edit the posts. ;/)

This freeze occurs whenever I try to start either type of Tutorial, or try to launch a new game. I can maneuver among all the menus just fine before that.

When it switches to the loading screen and freezes, it *usually* has the little green lines across the top, but not always.

Help ;D

Figured it out - was my AGP aperture. I should get promoted for providing my own tech support. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/gc-yes.gif

If it makes you feel better man, your not alone http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wave.gif I had a decked out system and had problems relating to my 3d accelerator in MTW for a long time before I finally got it fixed.
