Moving this to the Alchemist lab forum. Your answer lies there.

You can add 10 new custom folders if you have VI.
CUSTOM0 to CUSTOM9. The bif files need to be named as the folders.
Remember that one of the bif files needs _H in the filename which is the high resolution one.

Furthermore I suggest you read this thread (http://www.totalwar.org/cgi-bin/forum/ikonboard.cgi?act=ST;f=5;t=9968) about making new unit graphics if you haven't already.

*Open your Textures/Ground-folder: There you will find all used MTW ground textures seperated from each other in different clima-folders .
*Choose one clima, where you want to add a new texture: As an example "Arid": Open the Arid folder and you will find 181 textures there.
*If you want to add a new texture to arid, open one of the textures there or make a absolutly new one with your graphic editing software. I use Paint-Shop pro 8. It must have the resolution: 256x256 with 16 million colors and it must have the tga-format.
*Make your new texture and save it in tga format outside of MTW with a new number (as example "182"). Then open your texture again with IRFAN VIEW and save it again as tga-format and put it into your Arid folder(Textures/Groend/Arid).

Now you can choose and use the new texture in the map-editor. You can also change the existing textures if you want.

@ PseRamesses

I think he means the textures for men in battle, not landscapes

That is a big and resounding YES, so long as you use Custom0/ to Custom9/ directories, or replace the originals. I have made my own units (Knights of Saint George) by simply taking a normal knight unit and editing the bifs to have their shields and tabards to have a red cross on a white background. Pretty easy, but you need to be very experienced to do anything more than a simple edit.

Anyone tried to customize the textures for "Dark Age Lush" in VI ?

I am an experienced MapMaker, and making maps for me:tw.
Until now, i always found an answer myself or in your forum (Great source of information btwhttp://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/ceasaryes.gif).
