Gooday guys , is it possible to change the look of our beloved strategy map ?
I would like to make castles smaller , all bases much smaller , add more of the standard army ones ,so they better depict whats in them etc etc etc .
Im currently playing the Burgundians its 40 yrs in Ive captured four territories and the Italians are nearly finished BLOODY HARD WORK on the silly S/M .
We can make it better so we quicly know what peice is going for retraining - artillery is for that next assault , whos coming and whos going etc etc.
What folder do i look in ? Has any of you guys tried ?
Any previous info or work available

Making different pieces for different armies is impossible I think.

Are you sure about that ? Perhaps smaller bases would be a good start . More to follow .
Come on all you experienced modders any starting points ?

Smaller bases and smaller castles is possible though.
1. Download a bif reader (http://www.mizus.com/Tools/Files/readbif22b.zip).
2. Use the bif reader to backup, open and extract as bmps the files in Medieval - Total War\campmap\pieces\buildings and Medieval - Total War\campmap\pieces\armies (or something like that)
3. Edit these files (make the bases smaller) then convert them back into bifs using the bif reader (u can use c:\ to do this: see readme)
4. Put them back where they came from and make sure they have the same names as before.
Done. All the castles and armies' bases should be smaller.
PS if u want to do the same for agents then look in Medieval - Total War\campmap\pieces\agents
If I'm wrong pls correct me. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/bigthumb.gif

Again this forum is not for suggestions etc. this is for Mods that are in the development stage and need a place for easy access of ongoing topic info. moved to the Alchemsit lab..LOS
