Would it be too much to ask if at the point of time running out, if you have routed the enemy from the field and his daimyo is totally surrounded and about to get his nuts chopped, there could be a small extension??? Would that be so hard????

Due to "failing" in this attack, and getting pushed out of another province, my Daimyo, in yet another province with his large army, had his lines of communication cut and half of my provinces underwent catastrophic revolt. And when you control most of Japan, that's a lot of provinces. rrrRRRRg. I'm tempted to go with this just to have the "fun" of putting down all the revolts.. OOOOOOOooor I could just decide I have no patience for it and load my savegame and move FASTER in that attack next time.. grrrrrr...

You can play without the timer. I never use the timer in single player.

I found it is annoying to fight another Daimyo (especially when I attack). Sometimes, the Daimyo and his guards are the only who still have not been killed yet. All of his troops already withdrew. However, they keep wandering around infront of my troops which is at least 50 times as many. They are so brave and just refuse to withdral. Isn't that a bit crazy?

Puzz3D,

I would want to fight without the time limit. Sometimes, I have to fight against an army about 3 times as many. It is worst if the number of troops is up to thousands. The enemy keeps getting the reinforcement while my troops keep on fighting until they are exhausted and die (not in the hands of the enemy). On defend, the clock is working for me in this situation.

I don't like time limit battles, especially when you have obviously won. I had an experience where I had slaugthered the enemy, they has 2 archers left, I charged and the time ran out, that just shouldn't happen

Gah!

With no time limit, the computer has a chance ... his hordes can hit your line again and again until your men are all tired and run ...

The thing with the reinforcements also gives the weak computer player a needed advantage.

Otherwise, no chance for computer to win, even when it has huge numerical advantage.

Gah!

It's even worse when the opposing daimyo will...not...die. Twice I've had him in the middle of my army and he turns out to be a veritable kensai until his army rallies and carries the day.

I've had trouble with that too Wave. I've got him surround with 2 120 YS attacking him from the rear and the front giving him no escape and his stupid army rallies and obliterates me. I no longer allow just 2 units to engage a Daimyo, they are just too strong.

Krast has a point.. the AI could use the boost.. but at the same time you could say that it would loose the boost from being able to just outlast you in winter defenses.. but maybe you're right the power of superior numbers is more important than the power of ticking clock. Still, if you are able to rout all units on the field at any given point, the battle will end an no reinforcements will come anyway. Come to think of it, I can't remember a battle in which I was actually saved by the clock.

Hmm..
