hey kataar...its spo0kz from the ezboard forum... i was wondering if there is any way you can prevent civil wars via-editing? Is there any way i can keep up loyalty permanently? The AI is being swamped with civil wars and its boring fighting rebels and broken countries..

I already saw your posts in the Lab. As far as I know, there is no way to make everyone loyaler through modding. There might be something you can do in debug mode but that's unstable.

I very rarely have civil wars. Here's a few tips on preventing them:

Keep your king in the center of your kingdom
Use the auto-tax feature (available when you click on the arrow just right of the mini map on the campaign screen)
Don't let stupid children take the throne
Marry off your princesses and give titles to your disloyal generals. If the general is not worth doing either of those to, either keep him separate from the stack or disband him.
Keep your kings influence up
Never use peasants for battles. Use them only for garrisons. Influence drops when battles are lost. Peasants will be more than happy to get themselves slaughtered on the battlefield, causing terrible losses
Build lots of little things. Things that only take a year to build. Your king will eventually get the Magnificent Buildren VnV which gives +2 loyalty to ALL of your generals. Another thing to remember is that your could destroy these buildings and rebuild them and it just adds onto your buildren virtue
Release prisioners and you'll soon get + happincess VnV's.
Let your king lead battles and get him to take out the apposing archers in the battle. Your men will love him for it

That's just a few things off the top of my head. I'm pretty sure there is something in the debug style but I don't recommend you use it.

Good luck Spo0kz :)

haha thanks finally an answer... anyways im going to stick to my original way of dodging civil wars for both me and the AI.. im going to increase the loyalty bonus of all provincial titles and offices. i guess thats the best i can do.... heh heh

Adding a dread bonus to each provincial title may help a bit also.

really? how does that help? not really sure what dread does... does it make your generals more loyal?

Dread would help too.

Loyalty prevents civil wars, dread prevents rebellions.

If you want to eliminate rebellions, especially for the AI since it tends to get hurt worse by them, just edit the build_prod files - make every building give a happiness bonus.

That's an excellent idea. I kept looking for something in the unit_prod but that buildings one is great. Trusty Motorhead. :)

I never noticed that. Obviously he is my evil twin ... and he must be destoryed The moment you sleep ... I'll be there.

I've seen a few Katar's in my day. I used to know one in Dark Age of Camelot. I've never seen anyone else with the name Kaatar, though. Lucky me.

Here's to my mostly identical twin http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/cheers.gif

Edit: I was thinking of changing my name to Hopeless Hopeful. I'm strongly considering it now. 'Twould be less confusing.

just PM tosa inu and ask politely for him to change your name, he will ask you to confirm your e-mail, and BOOM you will have a new name http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/bigthumb.gif
