I have only played the sp part of mtw and I thought i would try the multiplayer, however my cd keys don't work. I have tried entering BOTH my original and VI expansion keys and they both say that it is invalid. Has anyone else had this problem or am I alone? Oh, and yes i bought the games and no, I did not lend them out ever to anyone else.

When typing in the cd-key use caps lock and hyphens too (so it looks like HGY5-GK90 etc) and then hit enter after you typed it in. Then you can click on Continue.

If you get an error then you restart the game before trying again.

Could be something wrong with the cd-key but some people also had to install the game again before it worked.

Hope that helps

Its definately worth the effort to get it working. MP is faaar superior to SP.

Apocalypse mate, it took me around 25 times of entering my cd-key to get it accepted - in the end the version that got accepted was exactly the same as had been rejected many many times - its just must be a very crap validation system. Keep trying - perseverance will bring results

The validation system does give me quite a bit of trouble. I get "account details incorrect" quite often when trying to logon. Sometimes I'll get in on a second attempt, but if I don't then I have to restart mtw/vi and that usually works. One thing I no longer do to get past this error is edit my gamespy account because I don't think that's the problem. I wonder if the problem at times could be that the email address isn't validating. I also get "logon error" quite often, and retrying usually gets past that one. However, a player can't even get that far until he gets past the "invalid cd-key". One additional thing about entering the CD-key is that all "0" are zeroes. I've also seen it suggested to not use caps-lock on the numbers, and just use shift on the letters.

Yay, I am so happy that I am not the only one with problems concerning this.... I was so very sad when neither of my keys worked http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/frown.gif I almost didn't post for help 'cause every time I see people with these kinds of problems in other game forums everyone just flames the heck outta the poor soul sayin' stuff like "buy the game haxor"

Thankyou all for the advice I will persevere and try again.

Yup keep trying, its way worth it.

And I think (hope) you will find this community is far different from most online gaming communities.

The Keycode system in MTW:Vi gotta be the most user unfriendly system I ever saw....

But it's worth getting it running ;)
