Thanks for replying to my posts the other week .
I dnldd the bif reader and will begin learning how to use it in my quest to improve the peices that we all use on our strat map.
Do i need any other tool to create graphics that works together with the bif reader ?
cheers
Dimitrios
No. If all u want to do is edit the size of bases and castles then all u need is an image editor and the bif reader.
Use the bif reader to open and extract the images a .bmps,
Use ur image editor to resize them.
(If u only have paint brush, which is not very good at resizing images, a useful trick is to insert the image into MS word, resize them, print screen and paste into paintbrush)
I think that the images need to be the same size, but if u change the size of the castle/base and make the rest transparent (green is transparent).
Then use the bif reader and C:\ to change them back to bifs. I think a discription of how to do this is in the txt files that come with the bif reader.
Hope this helps, Myddraal

I've told u everything u need http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/gc-wall.gif
U probably just opened the wrong file.
The pieces are in /campmap/pieces/units for units
and /campmap/pieces/buildings for castles
