More on my Danish campaign. Sweet revenge was visited upon the upstart Novgorodians (sp?) for their invasion of Lithuania. I marched into their capital province with an army of 15 huscarle unites and my general.
Since it was the Cossack crazies I was fighting, their horses gave me a bit of trouble. My viking smote everything else, but the general (Crown Prince Valdemar) and his bodyguards (valor 6) beat them down. Then out of the mist and rain comes King whoever-it-was of the People of Novgorod to challenge my leader mano a mano...except for the bodyguards of course.
But here's the cool part All the bodyguards wound up dying, and it was just my Prince and his King trading blows. Long after the rest of the vikings and huscarles were busy chasing horsies thru the Eastern Europe forests, these guys were still duking it out
As Prince Valdemar is soon to be the King (can't be that long, the current king is 70-something), this became what was essentially a King vs. King duel To the winner goes all lands of the Novgorod (since they had no heirs left).
I hate to say it, but eventually I had routed the rest of the army and the King ran. My king kept running and fighting and killed him just before he left the battlefield. I haven't been that excited about something in this game in I can't remember when.
