In the era txt files, all factions' starting money can be set for all difficulty levels, right?

If I add an entry for FN_REBEL there, will it work?

Thanks in advance

No, afraid not for Rebels. I've tried and no joys, however....

The normal value (8000) is the amount that the AI uses regardless of difficulty level set. Only the human player uses the other values set there (10000, 6000 and 4000). By changing the 8000, it is possible to vary the amount the AI factions start with. Just make sure you don't then choose the modified faction under the normal difficulty setting, or you'll get the modified settings which you had intended for the AI.

I currently have my expert level set to 2000 and some of the AI factions to 10000 for that uber challenge Be aware that more money for the AI doesn't really reflect an increased difficulty level. They just blow it on bribing usually... http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/gc-jester.gif

Thanks I guess I'll have to stick to giving Sahra enermous farm income to make the rebels happier.

what DOC says is quite true. the AI is stupid and blows the cash on stupid investments that don't pay off.

they will also bribe like a spearman that I have. a lone spearman likely cost them a bundle and got them nowhere.

I've yet to see even sensible bribing from the AI.

I've seen rebels sending assasins, building ships etc. That's why I want to give them more resources. But giving more income sounds more reasonable than more starting cash at all.

I'm not sure giving rebels more income is a good idea or we may see the entire map slowly turning grey.

rebels are actually quite comepetent when compared to other AI faction and more aggressive someitmes.

when the rebels get half the map, you know it's time for .conan. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif

Allows you to play as the Rebel faction.

Same as pressing 1 during a game when using the command line -ian.
