I was playing as the Takeda clan on normal level the other day. Half of Japan had fallen in my grip by 1596. All the rest of the clan was terminated by either the death of their daimyo or been conqured by me, all I had to conqure are the ronins. Things couldn't be any better, what can stop me. But that's not where it gets frustrating, hear this. Suddenly, a ninja came out of no where and killed four of my rank 4 generals and 2 daimyos consectively in two years before he let himself be killed by one of my rank 1 general! It outraged me! And what's worse is that the daimyo I was left with is 68 years old! Three years after the incident, my daimyo died and my game ended with a failure of uniting Japan http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/frown.gif I think the game has gave the AI too much advantages and it has gotten out of hand.

Well ninjas do get lucky on occasion.
It woundn't be worth having them in the game if they didn't.
Lets hope your Damiyo can still get it up,because he has work to do .
But in 1596, you have had 66 years to build border forts, shinobi, ninja...etc. What's the problem? Remember Sun Tzu's words, "know thy enemy..."

maybe the much cried-over Strategy Archives should carry a thread abouthow important it is to have shinobis where your high ranking generals/heirs are. Like the description accompanying your high ranking generals says, "Protect him."
