View Full Version : Saddest Rebellion I've Ever Seen

I was playing as Sicily and Malta rebelled with one catapault crew. At the time I had several hundred feudal sergeants and royal knights in the province. It was so sad. Apparently six disgruntled/insane catapault crewmen decided that they had had enough of my oppressive tax policies and thought they could take on the entire Sicilian empire.

I suppose they thought that as they went along with the rebellion, everybody else would just decide to join them and it would culiminate in a rag-tag rebel army of 50,000 men taking on the Sicilians and beating them like Spartacus beat the Romans. Unfortunately for them, it rarely ever happens like that. Next time they should consider doing a little bit of organizing before just deciding to secede from me. I mean, if I were going to rebel, I'd at least try to get 1000 peasants on my side. I wouldn't just rush into a rebellion like those catapault guys did. That was stupid.

Overall, I give this rebellion two thumbs down.

Has anyone else had a poor rebellion like this?

Oh I've seen them all to often http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif
It does seem rather weird now that you mention it. I didn't really stood still with it before, I just accepted it as part of the game. But yes, it's rather strange to have such an unsupportive rebellion http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif
Crushing down a (civil war type) rebellion also gives your Leader influence, right? Or it gives your Generals higher loyalty? I seem to remember something like this. I might be completely off. Anyways just slaughter the lot of them

well, the gov's dread and king's go up if you execute I believe.

The king also gets mercy vices for releasing them which improves happiness.

The A.I is so use to retreating to the castle that they were hoping you would do the same then they'd lay waste to your castle and bombard your men with rocks until they were all dead http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

OK maybe the juggling act is funnier http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/gc-juggle.gif

Now that's funny. I've had a single archer or peasant unit revolt, but a cat?

Were you able to repress them? What was the fate of the captured?

For those that lived I suggest you force them to sit and be critized by everyone, including the village idiot, on how their rebellion was moronic.

Yeah, I've had a few of those: catapult or ballista revolts since the VI expansion :) Funny, if you auto-resolve - you still lose some men fighting them. Nevertheless, if you play the battle and let your army (usually a lone king's unit) just stand there on a hill the catapulters soon realize their foolishness and run off the field :)

better to charge down upon them with your cav in single line ripping up the dust clouds.

with the pounding hooves in their face, they turn tail and run only to be cut down. muhahahha. foolish catapult crews for not realizing my might

anything under 100 men is not really a rebellion; it's a protest.

I've had single units of archers rebel in my 'cav provinces', where I make nothing but cav http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif That's always funny.

Also had a 16 bombard rebellion. Where did they steal them from? How were the morons able to steal them? These were the questions I asked as I ruthlessly 'hunted' them with Mounted sgts

yea, the all bombard/ all spy rebellions are a bug that was unfixed with the 2.01 patch http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/mecry.gif

Ive had a rebellion happen where the enemy men arrive at the battle field, deploy, and then send one unit at a time. They sent their leader first, i captured him, and then sent 2 druzina cav at about 400 spearmen and some peasents and they stood still and attacked 1 by 1. So after about a minute i routed them all and had about 5 casualities. I love the many bugs of MTW.

lol, bug exploitation.

mowing them down with missile fire while they stand still is really funny as well as such bugs.

I really wonder how we laugh at the pathetic AI but still not hesitate at exploiting the bugs. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif

I just had a rebellion with one ballista.
Never seen rebel spies, do they appear in a modded game or also in original games?

I once had a revolt in NTW of one General...5 men..and they thought they could take over Madrid and install himself as King..he was defeated and executed proudly. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

I'm guessing it was a civil war, where some of your own units turn rebel.

If the civil war consisted of only 5 men it was rather poorly thought out effort though... A real man would side with the rebs...

Hahahahaha Are you suggesting he should have tried to win the game taking the side of the rebellion http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

because Generals in NTW only come in 5-men units http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

Wasn't really a civil war..just a revolt..a very poorly calculated one

Single unit revolts are just downright annoying. They take up about 3 seconds of time to resolve but that is 3 seconds I could be using to trounce the French or the English. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/gc-jester.gif
