Hi guys, I'm new here http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wave.gif
(I only registered about half an hour ago)

Anyway, last night I downloaded the Partrician Mod off cNet, and everything went smoothly until I unzipped it to my Medieval folder. At about 97% complete, an error message appeared said that some critical documents, like the unit_prod11 file and the Names and Changes files, couldn't load because The following file does not match the file to be updated. I've downloaded Medmod IV but I made a second Medieval file and copied it there and reinstalled MTW to its original file.

What the hell is going on? http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/gc-help.gif

Greetings and welcome to the Org http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wave.gif

What version of M:TW did you install for the Patrician mod? I think it only works with version 1.1 (ie the original M:TW with the patch) and not Viking Invasion.

You were right, I have version 2.0, though I thought I saw on the on the game screen that I had 1.1 (it said 2.0 on the jewel case). Since this is the case, is there another Rome mod I can get for 2.0?

I don't know about 2.0, but i could tell you where to get a great one for 2.01 (this should work for 2.0 aswell) but first here's where to update your VI:

First head on over to the Total War mainsite and download the Medieval: Total War VI US/Euro Patch. it will update your game to be v2.01 and will fix a few things (including an anoying king bug). The patch is also required for online play. linky (http://www.totalwar.com/community/download.htm)

After you get your Game patched then head on over to the Dungeon (our own modders domain) and goto the The Engineers Guild. Look for The fall of Rome mod v2.0 made by a patron called maximus decimus meridius. Its a very interesting mod and Maximus will answer any questions you have with it.

Thanks Monk, the Fall of Rome mod is great http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

3ddownloads sucks, with the queue thing and all, but it was worth the wait Still though, I'd like a mod that has to do with the early Roman period, so if you know of a good one for 2.0 or VI, that'd be great. If not, thanks anyway http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/bigthumb.gif

I agree with you about 3ddownloads, the wait isn't the best thing in the world but most the time it's worth it.

As of now i Don't think there is a downloadable mod about the early roman era. However, Centurion: Total War is supposed to be about that period. It's being developed over in the Dungeon but i don't think it's up for download yet (i havn't followed it very closely)

Centurion: TW (http://www.totalwar.org/cgi-bin/forum/ikonboard.cgi?act=ST;f=27;t=16224)

I have provided a link, as i said i have no idea if it's ready for D/l, but it should fit your tastes when it is done i am sure. Good day Robert the Bruce16 http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/ht_bow.gif

Yeah, before I registered I viewed a forum on Centurion, TW, but the guy quit because it was just too big. It would have been an excellent mod though http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/mecry.gif He was planning on making a new Roman mod using the Britain map from VI, and that will be cool. If you hear about any other mods, could you email me? gvweister@unitedmainliner.com

Well that is bad news, i was looking forward to playing that mod, but i can understand his reasons for giving up. Modding is a very demanding hobby.

I'll be sure to keep an eye out for any mods that deal with the Early Roman era. rest ausured i'll send any news or info that i obtain on mods over to you to check out.
