Hi all,

I was just doing my usual stuff with the danes (trading and grabbing land from the rebels) - the cash rolled in and I saw castile went rebel with an 8 star in command - I didn t even check the stack - an 8 star is a must have, so I sent my trusted emissary - well, line hook sinker - I got him for around 4k (after an almo attack cut him down a bit - and yes, the Almos won in this game, but France and England are at peace in their original provinces so its maybe an odd game anyways http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wacko.gif )

Now giving the castile title made it a veritable 9 star and I had a look at the stacks content - I got the spanish royal rebels http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/eek.gif - besides my now 9 star I got a 6,5 3 too - all royal knights http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/gc-2thumbsup.gif aside from one drunk all had good V&V and all were at least 4 shields loyal and had 4 acumen at least.

Any of you got a bargain as good as this one?

yep.

that's a sweet bribe.

I also had a nice bribe as the almos had their civil war.

I was the sicilians and wondering about some desert troops to make my crusading better.

I suddenly saw Tunisia go rebel with a 7* heir at the head of a full stack of nice desert troops.

I got that for about 3k.

satisfied my Crusade needs and my Tunisia homelands GA in one shot.

also, since he was rebel, I never even went to war with the almos who was my ally and major trade partner.

Best bribe I ever made was a nobody little general -- who happened to be Spain's governor of Cordoba.

I took in the whole province when he turned. I deleted a citadel, and a bunch of buildings including a royal court and 80 percent agriculture. I made back far more florins than I paid in the bribe. Then I left, causing a nice little revolt the enemy had to fight before he could take back the province.

From there, this little band of turncoats invaded Morocco and I'll be darned if they didn't successfully besiege the castle, fighting off a couple of relief attempts in the process. They brought ruin to that province too and beat off more troops and bandits before finally being overwhelmed. They even inflicted more casualties than they suffered in that last battle.

I ransomed the survivors back for a pittance. The nobody little general was now a four-star.
