hello all, been offline for awhile, good to be back, how is everyone?
started modding VI again, havent played any new full campaigns yet, just testing out the changes step by step and such...
just enabled the sahara province after some trial and error, made it a rebel province, so alohamads could invade, gives them a great defensive fallback point and staging area, and improves their land mobility from the beginning years greatly
...from the looks of it all, havent tried a hand at it yet, i invaded it, started building there, trained, built ships and sailed away to test, so it all works, gave it a somewhat mediocre income with salt, ivory and such so it could pitch in a bit other than its geographical advantages,
made all changes in early.txt
i just assume the same changes must be done in each time period to have effect if u start at a different time, i know, dumb question, but its been a while for me, and i'm just double checking :anxious

got much more work to do with the mod idea before finishing, especially going back to my pagan ways

just wondering how using the sahara in full campaigns has effected the games peeps play, i think it shall be an interesting portion of the changes i'm trying out, cheers people http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/cheers.gif

For me, Sahara mostly improves unit movement across the Africa, as it is unussual to see the province particularly wealthy or attractive from a economic perspective. Also it provides a faction that has it, with new training facilities, as any other province...

yeah, i figured, so it should be cool when all is done, that geographic advantage does look to be a useful one for them or whoever else controls the regions,
i havent hammered out all mod objective specifics yet, but increasing beginning options and difficulty are the main vague goals, so just a question of how and how long, muahahaha,
hope i do a decent job at it all...
